One of our favorite trees of all time, this Dawn Redwood (metasequoia glyptostrobodies) resides in Bromsgrove Park, Bromsgrove.
We noticed it 3 years ago when rejuvenating the park and helping plant a small arboretum with Wolverhampton Tree Services who maintain their trees.
This is the smallest of the Redwood family, and has seen an increase in numbers within the UK since the early 80’s. Two of these were planted in the Park at the same time, this is the smallest at around 40 ft,with the other one currently around 50ft.
This park is an amazing place with some superb specimens and a real treat for the family, the best part is it is FREE to visit!! I would urge anyone who has an interest in trees or a small family to visit the park and enjoy the atmosphere it creates.
