Tree removal in Bristol

– TREE SURGERY SERVICE

When is it necessary to remove a tree?

You should remove a tree if it poses a safety risk due to disease, decay, structural instability or extensive damage. Additionally, a tree may need to be removed if it obstructs building work or the installation of telephone lines.

If your tree is of a significant size, then this is not a job for the fainthearted and we certainly wouldn’t recommend having a go yourself.

Our arborists have many years of experience and have completed the required training to remove trees of all shapes and sizes. Bristol Tree Services also hold all of the relevant accreditations and are a fully insured and professional business.

What are the signs that indicate a tree needs to be removed?

While it may sometimes be difficult to tell the health of a tree if you’re not an expert, there are a couple of tell-tale signs you can look out for. These include a high number of dead branches, significant lean, large cavities or decay, pest infestations beyond control, root damage, or limited leaf production.

What are the different methods for removing a tree?

There are a number of techniques that can be used to safely and efficiently remove a tree. The method that’s used depends on a variety of factors. These include size, shape, location and type of damage.

Tree felling

Tree felling involves several steps. First, our tree surgeons will clear the area and cut a notch on the side the tree will fall. The team will then make a backcut on the opposite side of the tree. With the prep complete, the tree is felled. If required, we can then remove the stump using a special piece of machinery called a stump grinder.

Dead tree removal

Our arborists will start by assessing the tree’s condition and identifying any potential hazards. Depending on the state of the tree, its size and its shape, our team will then use chainsaws, cranes or a combination of the two to safely dismantle the tree in sections. The debris will then be carefully removed and we can grind down the stump if needed.

Technical dismantlement

Technical dismantlement is a tree removal technique that we typically use for trees located in tight spaces or near structures. It involves careful planning and the use of specialist equipment that can include cranes, rigging, and ropes.

Our team of highly skilled tree surgeons will strategically cut and lower sections of the tree to the ground to ensure minimal damage and maximum safety. We’ll then clear the debris and can again, grind the stump of the now removed tree.
